Rainbowology

There is much to be said upon the topic of the God-created rainbow. I, seek to remind you, reader, of a truth that has been forgotten. Washed from our memories by the waters of confusion, opened by the world we live in. I write as if God, Himself, writes through me. In this post, I hope to shut those flood gates with a truth stronger than the force of gravity.

If we forget why the rainbow shines in its glory, how can we ever sing praises of gratitude to the living God? How can we ever be reminded that our hearts produce more wickedness than Ford makes cars? Without understanding, we forget that God’s justice comes with a price none of us have the money, cryptocurrency, or land to pay. My anger doesn’t burn, nor is it directed at the LGBTQIA community for this perversion of a holy object. Instead, it blares even greater against the Devil, who uses them to drag our Father’s promise through the mud. We wrestle not against other humans, but spiritual beings whose actions manifest in this ephemeral world we call the physical.

One doesn’t need to study to identify the meaning of the Rainbow in our society. My toddler nephew can walk through our cities for a day and come to the conclusion. He can also read one chapter, any chapter, in his Bible and learn how the Devil works to drag electric, blood-bought Truths through the mud. If we would deeply and tactfully consider the consequences of a misconstrued understanding, we will realize our entrapment is disguised as embellishment. This entrapment goes much deeper than a casual knowledge. For, this snare seeks to snatch our hearts. How? By and through deception, of course. Any criticism brought by the previous statement is founded only upon the most superficial understanding..

Allow me to summarize this perversion of the rainbow, lest we step in its snare once again. The LGBTQIA community believes that love is love. They have created a symbol, using colors from the original rainbow to convey that love is void of definition. But, how can there be any thorough understanding of what love is without first understanding Who love is? Simply put, God is Love (1 John 4:8). Love doesn’t generate in the mind, nor is it a mosh pit of affectionate emotions. Rather, Love is best understood as we understand God. Anything outside of this is illusory, rooted in self-delusion, and wrong. One cannot subjectively and pridefully assert a definition to something that has been eternally defined already. Nor can dead, lifeless symbols usurp the Living Symbol— Jesus Christ. Woe to the one who replaces the eternal, living God with an ideology germinated in the mind of sheeplike, finite creatures.

One cannot subjectively and pridefully assert a definition to something that has been eternally defined already.

God is Love. Therefore, only He can define what love is. God created a definition of what love is (1 Cor. 13). Love is rooted in the heart which flows to the mind and expresses itself through emotion and action. Love, having existed from eternity past, always had humans in His heart with the intent to love them deeply and richly and unconditionally. And it is a kind of love that overwhelms you like raindrops during a monsoon. One manifestation of His love was through a promise. He reluctantly destroyed the world for insolence. After the carnage—one can only imaginatively ponder why— He promised to never destroy the world, with a flood, again. And for those people of little faith, but most importantly, for His glory, He created a sign. He lined up red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Then, He asked Jesus to sprinkle His blood upon it (2 Cor. 1:20). And after all of this, He grabbed those colors by their ends and bent them into an arc and hung it in the sky. Why? To remind. To remind us of His holiness. To remind us of His love. This, and only this, is the true definition of the rainbow. Believe it or not, there is no gold at the end of the rainbow but something better. Where the rainbow leads to is where it came from—the Most High God. He waits at the end of it, you only need eyes of faith to see. May we be salt and light and remind those who have yet to read this exhortation. If not, Christianity will become as corrupted as the morals of the masses.

The greatest weakness in the church today is that the servants of God keep looking over their shoulder for the approval of men.
