The Living God

God speaks

Cuz that’s what living beings do

They communicate

God’s voice is subtle

Like the color white in blue

Like light through a cloud

I see no Sun

But feel the warmth

I hear no song,

But the grass and trees dance 2 the rhythm of the wind

God’s voice

He’s so other

And we expect Him 2 speak like we do

Psh!

His ways ain’t see through

He’s an inimitable mystery

He speaks

Cuz He changes not

From the beginning He spoke

No periods, no dots

He sings

He comforts

He pours poetry into our heart

He reminds

He convicts

Why doubt?

God talks

He encourages

He uplifts

He teaches

He strengthens

He inspires

God talks

Maybe, just maybe, it’s not the ears we should hear with

Because, history shows He speaks to the heart

Human language can but imperfectly describe God’s ways. I am sensible of the fact that they are indescribable and inscrutable. But if mortal man will dare to describe them, he has no better medium than his own inarticulate speech.
