Encouragement 4 A Soul

IN life the wanderer rarely gets to sit. Why should he rest when the night cometh, when no man can work? Often you find the sojourner sitting because of a burdensome journey. To sit at times expresses the heart’s weariness, for we are all weak and fading away. Sometimes he sits anticipating the still small voice or to allow the heavy thoughts to lighten. By observation we have learned that the faithful sojourner will rest when the job is complete. Once the last thought is examined and the final amen is ushered, the sojourner will rise up refreshed and joyous like a house on Thanksgiving. Yet, he rises with apprehension and humility like that of the grass because he never forgets that no matter what he accomplishes he will never be as important as the ocean.

Do not disturb yourself by imagining your whole life at once.
— Marcus Aurelius
