A Wandering Thought

OFTEN we gawk over the caterpillar’s ability to transform into a butterfly, but never credit the caterpillar. We live in a world where the process of one’s growth is irrelevant, uncomfortable, or taboo. Our growth isn’t cherished. The baby in the womb isn’t cared for as the baby post-birth. The fruit of the seed is more precious to us than the seed. Yet, the preparation a thing undergoes is what it becomes in the future. Without this growth, the thing, whatever it is, will have no future existence. For, we know, anything that isn’t growing is dying, and no dead thing can see the faceless years of the future. It is with growth, that our dreams and desires become more expansive and reachable. Time only mocks the daydreamer anyway, right? It is princes who become kings! Neither of us can imagine what our difficult seasons produce in us. But, we will begin to find mastery and balance in life when we relish in the muddy experiences of our germination.

Light is sharply directed on one spot, leaving not only the greater part in darkness but also denying by implication that the great unlighted field exists.
