A Spiritual Hymn

It is Thou who works in me

Exactly through which parts?

Does Thou think my thoughts?

Is it Thee who words my talk?

Maybe He is the gait to my walk.

Nonetheless, the desires within

Never arises from my heart which is stained in sin

Not one straight stick, all of mine bend

I need Thee

Like the baby in the womb needs the mother

I need Thee

Like the little child that hides from the dark under the cover

I need Thee

Like the slave needs hope

I submit, with my head low, I beg and plead

I am only a worm Abba

Thou work in me!

Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
