A Common Lament

Why do You hide Thyself from me?

Do you not trust Thyself with me?

When You look at me, what doest Thy see?

Don’t you see my heart and how it beats for Thee?

I’ve only desired Levi’s lot

Yet my circumstances reveal I should’ve been killed

Banished

Judgement has exiled I from Thee

My unanswered questions haunt me

He who is omnipresent, why does He hide from me?

The worse we have done to God is leave Him alone— why can’t He return the compliment?
